Formula Assistance
Low Protein food alternatives and necessary daily formula are often times not covered by insurance and are extremely expensive, ensuring that families that are anything other than financially well off must do without. Formula subsidies for families trapped above State and Federal funding guidelines, but below discretionary income or insurance reimbursements consistently struggle with making ends meet.

Research Grants
It is the desire of The PKU Foundation to fund various organizations focused on curing and enabling the lifestyle of patients afflicted with PKU. General medical research funding is often directed toward more profitable diseases, with time, talent and attention not focused on curing this disorder. Through private donations and grants the Foundation will be able to manage, direct and control these efforts.

Birthday Baskets
PKU patients and families have annual appointments with their clinic in which they review the patient's diet performance, evaluate changes that need to be made in the coming year, and discuss psychological impacts for both the patients and their extended families. It is at these appointments that the Foundation would like to present families with a "basket" of gifts ranging from measuring cups and blenders to coloring books and recipe alternatives.
